After a rewarding career as a teacher and advocate in gifted education, I’ve found new ways to teach, inspire, and connect — this time through jewelry styling, hair accessories, digital creativity, and cozy lifestyle inspiration. Today, I focus on curating timeless, versatile pieces and sharing simple style guidance that helps women feel effortlessly confident and beautifully themselves… without the overwhelm.

Today, I live full-time by the lake with my husband, Allen, our sweet rescue lab Boomer, and two mischievous cats, Sam and Avery. Our grown sons and their incredible wives round out our little circle, and I find endless joy in simple moments—baking sourdough, curating cozy spaces, and helping other women shine in their own way.

10 totally random facts about me

1. I live full-time on Smith Lake in Alabama with my husband Allen and our three rescue pets: Boomer (a very good lab), and two cats, Sam and Avery, who run the household.
2. I’m a dog and cat mom. Yes, it’s chaos. No, I wouldn’t trade it.
3. I used to be a gifted specialist and was even the executive director of the Alabama Association for Gifted Children. Once a teacher, always a teacher!
4. I sell permanent jewelry (zero welding involved!) and work with JBloom as a jewelry stylist—which means I get to play with pretty things and help women feel confident every day.
5. I bake sourdough bread from my very own wild yeast starter and share the journey over on The Wild Yeast Diaries. (Yes, carbs are my love language.)
6. I’m a proud introvert who somehow thrives on social media. Don’t ask me to mingle at a big party, but I will chat your ear off in a Facebook comment thread.
7. I once started a blog called Peacock’s Pretties and then decided to turn it into a whole jewelry brand. Now it’s my happy place for sparkle, style, and storytelling.
8. My favorite color is purple. (And yes, that does influence my jewelry choices.)
9. I’m a huge fan of pretty pens. Papermate Flairs, Inkjoys, gel pens… don’t leave me unattended in the office supply aisle.
10. I will absolutely watch a cheesy romance movie and cry like it’s Oscar-worthy. Bonus points if it involves a Christmas tree lot or a bakery.
